Scotch Coach Guard flintlock blunderbuss marked on top of brass barrel “ST 3083/EDINBURGH”; approximately 30” overall with a 14.5” barrel, brass mounted, brass tipped wood ramrod, checkered wood stock;overall good condition with working action, pleasing patina to brass barrel and mountings; overall good wood stock with an old repair to a sliver of wood on the right side of the fore stock area and scatteredminor old mars and scratches from carry and storage. Accompanied by a typewritten not that describes and includes information on this flintlock including that it was purchased on April 28, 1961 from TheodoreDexter who obtained it from the famous Frank E. Bivans collection. A brass tag numbered “355” is attached to the trigger guard and appears to be the number assigned to this piece in the Bivans collection. Est.:$1,400-$2,800.
