Custom Made American Sporting rifle attributed to LeFever of New York for Dr. Fred C. Cairns of St. Johnsville circa 1952. This rifle is in .22 (Center fire unknown needs to be chamber cast) and is paired to another rifle in .257 Roberts caliber with almost identical stock configuration being sold as next lot. The barrel measures 24” and 44 ½” overall. Finely made and hand checkered burled walnut stock with large and high cheekpiece. The action has been polished and turned. The rifle is mounted with Litschert spot shot scope on target type aluminum mounts. The rifle is in very good condition and may clean to almost fine as stored for many years in this old collection. Note: The next rifle in .257 Roberts is mentioned in 1952 article as being made by LeFever. Copy included. (C&R) Est.: $1000-$2000
