Rare and experimental M1 Garand in .30-06 with prototype and experimental fiberglass stock. This caliber was an attempt at smaller and more versatile bullets and multiplex or multiple projectiles. The stock was a fore runner to the M16 stock to reduce cost and improve capabilities. The rifle is S/N 5450811 and made about 1954; bolt marked SA6528271 SA-A11, op rod marked 6535382SA, post-war SA marked trigger group; many experimental features in gas cylinder and lock with other experimental features. This sight is unique and possibly designed for multiple projectile use. The stock is entirely prototype and probably unique. (C& R). Est.: $6,000-$12,000.
