Rare and iconic M1 Garand with ultra-rare “Gas Trap” by Springfield Armory, S/N 30562; completely original with early no trap buttplate; good to very good overall condition with even patina and honest use; retaining approximately 60-80% original thinning arsenal finish; no finish remains on original “Gas Port” area; stock shows light sanding or cleaning with outline of SA/SPG cartouche. Experts estimate approximately 50 original “Gas Traps” are existent. Provenance: Alan Cors collection Lot 3081 Fall of 2016 where it is stated “This rifle is featured in “American Rifleman” magazine on gas trap Garands by Bruce Canfield”. Lance King collection. (C&R).
