SIGNED BY CHARLES T BUCK OWNED BY RICHARD NEYMON & GLENN MATTOX. Per "M9 BAYONET THE AUTHORIZED HISTORY", " These unique M9's were purchased by the Marines for 'Division level' testing. The Marines had some problems with the bayonet design as they had a fair amount of blade tip breakage with these 5,500 M9 USMC 1991 bayonets that Buck produced. These were the only US military "contract" bayonets ever made by Buck knives." This bayonet & it's corresponding scabbard is signed by Charles T Buck & is pictured on page 166 of the M9 Bayonet book. The caption for the page reads "This was the proper scabbard for the 1991. This knife went to the first Gulf War". This bayonet was purchase by Glenn Mattox from Richard Neyman on March 25th, 2018. This bayonet is 12 1/4" overall. The 425M Stainless steel blade with 57 plus RC hardness is 7 1/8" overall signed by Charles T Buck. M9 standard crossguard & pommel. OD Green grooved & checkered Zytel handle. OD Green Zytel scabbard without Buck markings & with sharpening stone using M9 Bianchi & Nexus belt attachment parts. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copied pages from M9 bayonet book that picture knife bayonet & scabbard. Also included is receipt & check from Glenn Mattox & Richard Neyman for the bayonet & scabbard. CONDITION: Blade in very good condition showing wear streaks from scabbard interior & dents into top of blade 2" from the tip aligning with the wire cutter attachment from the scabbard. Crossguard shows wear from finish corresponding to contact w/ scabbard. Very good handle w/ light marks. Scabbard very good w/ light wear. Fastening strap for bayonet to scabbard shows wear.
