In a magnificent World Series in 1982, the evenly matched Cardinals and Brewers took the fall classic to seven games, with the Cards edging out the former Pilots in the last few innings for their ninth crown. HOFers Robin Yount, Paul Molitor and Ozzie Smith all competed in this Series, with Darrell Porter taking the MVP. This 1982 World Series trophy was presented to a member of the St. Louis Cardinals front office. Just under a foot tall at the highest flag, the trophy features a gold crown atop an arc centerpiece over a silver baseball, surrounded by 26 gold flags with black lettering on stanchions, one for each Major League team. The two World Series teams' press pins are mounted on small poles on the 7" diameter black base, in front of the silver baseball. The surrounding gold band reads "St. Louis Cardinals, World Champions 1982". There is a Balfour manufacturer's sticker underneath the base. In overall NRMT condition with very minor tarnishing on the flags and silver baseball.
