For your consideration is this 1981 watercolor painting done by Idaho artist Doyle W. Elison. Doyle W. Elison was born and raised on a family farm in the Blackfoot, Idaho area on April 26, 1928 in Groveland to Leone Coolbear Elison and Marvin William Elison. He grew up in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School. He then studied Art at Utah State University. He passed away at his home on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the age of 88. This watercolor painting depicts two Native Americans near their teepee and horse. One is sitting and one is standing, and both are wearing large coats. Their horse stands next to them with a brown base color and white spots towards the end of its back. There are five birch trees and a a pile of birch tree wood. The painting is signed in the bottom left hand corner reading, "Doyle W. Elison ©1981". The back of the frame is signed by Doyle W. Elison reading, "Thanks, Doyle W. Elison 3-27-81" and features a small write up about his life. The painting is set behind glass in a wood frame and is single matted. The art and frame show good condition overall with no signs of obvious damage present. The art measures 5 1/2" L x 7 1/2" W. The entire piece measures 10 3/4" L x 12 1/2" W.
