Our Assessment: This is a Winchester Model 1894 Carbine made in 1968 with a 20" round barrel chambered in .32 Winchester Special. The .32 Win Spl was a popular American cartridge that was introduced in 1901, that was harder hitting than a .30-40 Krag cartridge but with less recoil. The .32 Win Spl has been discontinued for many years, however handloading is still prevalent. The 20″ barrel of the Carbine model makes it light and fast-handling, and when coupled with the .32 Win Spl cartridge makes it a great rifle for hunting in thicker brush. This would be a great rifle for someone who is looking to hunt or enjoys classic lever action rifles and likes the challenges of handloading!
