This vintage game is Chess For Juniors, real chess made easy for children. Suggested ages for this game are Game I: 6-12 and Game II (advanced version): all ages. This game was released by Selchow and Righter in 1965.

By using the set of cardboard Directional Playing Pieces for Game I, the child will learn each piece by name, where to put it on the board at the start of the game, and in which direction and how many spades each piece may be moved. All this will be absorbed without effort while playing a simple type of scoring game which will hold interest.

When he has mastered Game I, he will then be ready to play Game II with the standard chess pieces in accordance with the basic Chess rules.
