In Willie McCovey's 22-year career (19 with the Giants), McCovey batted .270, with 521 home runs and 1555 RBI, 1229 runs scored, 2211 hits, 353 doubles, 46 triples, a .374 on base percentage and a .515 slugging average. McCovey was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986, his first year of eligibility. In the collar of the flannel jersey is the "MacGregor" manufacturers label with the size, "44". Right below in the collar is a white felt patch with the name "McCovey" in red chain stitch. On the inside right front tail is the flag tag reading "Set 1 1961". Across the front of the jersey is the name "San Francisco" and on the back is the partial player number "4". Both the name and number are made of black on orange tackle twill. The jersey has orange/black/orange trim around the neck and on the end of the sleeves. The jersey shows game-use and besides having only a partial original number appears to have no alterations of any kind.
