HOFer Drillon had a brief but successful NHL career, leading the league in scoring in 1938 while being named to the NHL First All-Star Team twice. He finished on the top-5 voting for the Lady Byng five times, winning it in 1938 and finishing as the runner-up three times. He won a Stanley Cup with the Leafs in 1942, and at the age of 29 he joined the RCAF during World War II, never to play in the NHL again. Interestingly, Drillon was one of the early players to use what would now be recognized as a "screening" style of play—parking himself in front of the opposing goaltender to redirect shots and block the goalie’s view. This style became influential in the evolution of offensive strategies in hockey. After the war, he worked as a scout for the Maple Leafs and was also active in coaching and development. Graded a very clean 6 EX-MT by PSA!
