Early 1950's Marlin Model 39A Lever Action Rifle, #J10953, .22 S-L-LR cal., 24'' round ''JM'' marked barrel, blue finish, pistol-grip walnut stock with fluted comb, black plastic Marlin buttplate, and sling swivels. Sights include a beaded front with hood and a ''U''-notched elevator rear. Mfg'd 1952. An overall nice rifle that rates in fine condition, with approx. 96% original blue. Barrel and lever with some mild toning; barrel with a few additional specks of oxidation and scratches at about the mid-point. Factory lettering is clear; barrel address with sharp edges. Wood retains most of its oil type finish with small surface dents and handling marks, mainly at the forend and wrist. Lever is crisp with a smooth hammer and trigger. Bore is excellent.
