Early 1950's Marlin Model 39A Lever Action Rifle, #J21813, .22 S-L-LR cal., 24'' round ''JM'' marked barrel, blue finish, pistol-grip walnut stock with fluted comb and black plastic Marlin buttplate. Sights include a beaded front with hood and a ''U''-notched elevator rear. Mfg'd 1952. Condition is very good with approx. 90% blue. Finish has thinned mostly at the lever, forend cap, and near the rear sight. Factory lettering is clear. Wood shows age and wear consistent with the rest of the rifle, including scattered shallow scratches and mars; finish with slight thinning in the handling areas. Action is crisp with a smooth hammer and trigger; bore rates excellent. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
