1941 Miniature Sleigh Gift
From perhaps the nosiest and most kinetic comedy every made, Steven Spielberg's "1941" (1979) also utilized one of the largest miniature departments ever assembled, especially for two key sequences, the recreation of Hollywood Blvd, and Santa Monica's Pacific Ocean Park, complete with a runaway merry-go-round! Nothing of this scale has ever been created since. After the film was released, the miniature department gave its entire crew and production folks and close friends a "thank you" gift which was a beautifully detailed wood miniature of the infamous "Rosebud" sleigh from "Citizen Kane". This was a production "in-joke", since Spielberg has just purchased the actual full size prop from "Kane", a prop which is considers the greatest in all of film history. This rare crew gift collectable has (c) Malcolm Thomas 1980 written on the back. (Approx. 3"x 1.5") Comes with a COA.
