This is a professionally restored example of an early pre-war 1939 production Nazi Mauser Banner Police Luger. These early Police Mauser Banners are very desirable in that they were produced on a very limited basis, only from 1938 through 1942 with very limited numbers in each of those years. This series of Lugers carries both the desirable Mauser banners on top of the toggle. The Commercial "Crown U" and "Eagle L" police acceptance proofmarks. They exhibit the exceptional late war, high polish salt-blue finish are on the barrel, frame, and various small parts, with checkered walnut stocks. As noted, the chamber is dated "1939" and the upper toggle link is stamped with the Mauser "Banner" trademark. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the "Crown /U" commercial proofmark which is also stamped on the left side breechblock. The right side of the barrel extension is also marked with the correct "Eagle/Swastika/L" police acceptance stamp. The upper safety area and extractor are both marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN", respectively. Haenel Schmeisser marked tin plated magazine with pinned aluminum bottom that is stamped "2/4385"
