1938 commemorated Broadway show “Hellzapoppin” with this .38 caliber double action H&R pistol, mounted on display plaque, serial number 66089 was a prop in that play and fired 100,000 shots. The revolver was placed in the Harold’s Club Collection in Reno, Nevada on July 20, 1952 and a card signed by stars Ole Olson and Chick Johnson is affixed to the plaque with an engraved plaque 1938 Hellzapoppin”. Also by collectors tradition this pistol was used in a Groucho Marx movie of the same name. From the Harold’s Club Collection with their inventory tag attached number 723 as sold by Butterfields and Butterfields of San Francisco where it was listed in their catalog of the auction.
