In production from 1935 to 1945, the Krieghoff Lugers were manufactured almost exclusively for the Luftwaffe with 2,500 produced in 1937. There was a production overrun of 1,635 sets of components used for commercial pistols. Blade and notch sights, with "1937" date marked on the chamber area and the C-2 type marking "H anchor K/KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" on the toggle link. The right side of the barrel extension has the "LWaA" inspection stamp with the Luftwaffe acceptance proof. The barrel is correctly marked on the underside with the bore diameter, "LWaA" inspection proof then the serial number along with a second Luftwaffe barrel proof on the right side. "LWaA" proofs are present inside the side plate, trigger lever, left side of the breechblock and rear toggle, underside of the front toggle, firing pin and firing pin spring retainer, along with matching numbers on all the above parts, plus the frame, latch, trigger, safety, hold open and extractor. The small components show a straw finish, with niter blue screws, checkered brown plastic grips, and blue finished magazine with aluminum base stamped with a "LWaA" proof and "7642". With one extra blue magazine marked "7642" with a "LWaA" proof.

Condition: Very fine as partially refinished (barrel, receiver and side plate) with balance retaining 90% original blue finish with thinning on the grip straps. 40% of the original straw colors remain on the various components. The niter blue screws retain strong traces of the original finish. The grips are also very fine with some scattered minor marks. The magazines are both professionally renumbered.
