Revolutionizing the service station industry with the release of the first computing gasoline pump in 1933, the Wayne Company of Ft. Wayne, Indiana followed up in 1935 with the "Wayne Model #60," the true high point in the evolution of pump design. A streamlined, art-deco inspired design with great aesthetic appeal, it was billed by Wayne as "The World's Most Beautiful Pump." Made for Richfield in blue and yellow, on the front is a plate that reads "Wayne, Fort Wayne, Made In USA." On the non-hose side is a plaque that reads in part "Cut 60" and "Serial No. 5481 BB" and "No. 39188L." Beautifully repainted, the white face plates behind the glass windows show some rust. The glass globe that sits atop the pump is not original but is very high quality and in MINT condition. This item will be expensive to ship.
