1928 Dutch East Indies Luger, #10641, 9mm, 4'' barrel, blue finish with straw small parts, factory checkered walnut grips, with one tin-plated unmarked wood based magazine. Considered somewhat rare with approx. 3820 mfg'd. Ordered in 1928, this variation 1906 pattern Luger was one of the last produced by DWM. Chamber area is blank, DWM marking to toggle, ''KOL'' monogram to upper right receiver and known by collectors as a ''Dutch Colonial'' proofmark; upper safety area marked ''Rust'' with arrow pointing to the Safe upper position; extractor marked ''Geladen'' to both sides, rear portion of barrel marked 1939, left side of upper receiver with ''(crown)/N'' commercial proofmark. Condition is excellent as showing evidence of at least partial restoration with added rust blue to metal surfaces. Straw small parts show thinning to trigger and at base of thumb safety. Grips remain mostly crisp. Action is tight, bore is fine to near excellent. It is interesting to note that many of these found their way into Japanese hands after the fall of the Dutch East Indies. Est.: $3,500-$5,000. (C&R/PPT) (John Siroonian estate)
