We start off this auction with a rare and sought after pre-war hockey card. HOFer Cecil "Babe" Dye is a true superstar of the early NHL. He led the NHL in goal scoring 4x, all of them in seasons where he was better than a goal a game average, scoring 2x, and game-winning goals 4x. He led the Toronto St. Patricks to a Stanley Cup in 1922, scoring nine goals in the five-game final. Dye was also a legitimate 2-sport star, having played several years of professional baseball during the 1920s, mainly in the old competitive International League (hence the nickname "Babe"). He was a star player who batter over .300 several times. Eventually the dual sport schedule took it's toll and he became injury prone later in his career. A broken leg suffered in 1927 spelled the end. This, his 2nd year card, has been graded a very clean 5 EX by PSA, and is a low population card being 1 of only 4 (2 graded higher) with only 16 total in the PSA database. A showpiece card that doesn't break the bank!
