Imperial Luger Pistol manufactured at Erfurt, the Prussian owned arms factory, during WWI. The pistol chamber is dated "1920/1916" and the toggle is marked with the distinctive "Crown / ERFURT" logo. The pistol was subsequently reworked to police specifications by the addition of a sear safety and magazine safety (absent). The pistol has a dull blue finish with straw colored small parts. The stocks are finely checkered walnut and the back strap has a stock lug . The magazine has a blue body and aluminum base numbered to another gun, with the remaining visible numbers matching. The right side of the receiver is stamped with three "Crown/gothic letter" Army acceptance marks followed by the Imperial Eagle. The "Crown/ RC" rework stamp is marked on the left rear of the barrel. The left side of the toggle link is also stamped with the Imperial Eagle. Typical of Erfurt pistols, a small "Crown/gothic letter" acceptance mark is stamped on all of the small parts. Complete with a 1916 dated Kersten leather flap holster.
