1913 Dated German DWM Military Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is an example of a 1908 Military Contract, German Luger pistol as used by the imperial German forces prior to and during WWI. The top of the chamber area is dated 1913 and the right side of the barrel extension is marked with three "crown/script letter" proofs and one Imperial eagle proof. The top right side of the barrel has a single Imperial Eagle proof along with the serial number and bore diameter, "8,33", underneath, and matching serial number on the left side barrel extension. The partial serial number "43" is marked on most of the small components. The toggle link is marked "DWM" and the left side of the toggle has a small Imperial eagle proof. It is marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" on the extractor and safety area respectively, with a rust blue finish and straw color on the takedown lever, trigger, magazine release, ejector and safety lever. The magazine is the standard WWI nickel plated body with the wood base that is numbered to another gun, the back strap is not cut with a stock slot and it is fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Excellent. The pistol retains 95% plus original blue finish with some thinning on the muzzle, high edge wear and a very small amount of spotting on the grip straps. The grips are fine, with the exception of a small gouge and a couple of dents in the left panel, there are a couple scratches on the right panel and minor wear to the otherwise moderately worn checkering. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear. Mechanically excellent.
