Gorgeous early hockey tobacco card, featuring Hall of Famer, "Bad" Joe Hall. His nickname was accurate as by all accounts Hall was one mean SOB on the ice. Newspaper accounts of the day paint a picture of a violent defenseman who punished his opponents (and even officials) often, with plenty of wild stories of mayhem. He was also a talented player as well, and made the HOF on his hockey abilities. Unfortunately he died young, while a member of the 1919 Montreal Canadiens. While in Seattle competing for the Stanley Cup that year many members of both teams caught the Spanish Flu, part of the worldwide Influenza epidemic. The series was cancelled midstream, and Hall died days later. This Rookie Card is from the second hockey set ever issued, the colorful Imperial Tobacco (designated C-55) set of 1911-12. Pre-WW I hockey is among the rarest and most collectible cards in the hobby. Graded VG-EX 4 by SGC.

The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time prior to the time of sale of such lot.
The auctioneer reserves the right not to accept any bid which is only a partial advance over the preceding bid.
The auctioneer may break down or consolidate any lot or lots at his sole discretion.
Galaxy Auctions Canada assumes no responsibility for any liability once a bid is accepted.
Products are sold "as is, where is" and there shall be no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied, statutory or otherwise of any nature.
Catalogue is prepared only as a guide. No sale shall be invalidated by any reason or defect or inaccuracy of description in catalogue or otherwise, and no liability shall be borne by the auctioneers by virtue of any such fault or error.

The winning bidder is not entitled to possession until all items have been paid for in full.
In the event that the purchase prices are not paid within 72 hours (unless email arrangements are made), the auctioneer shall have the right to resell such items in whatever manner he sees fit without notice to the purchaser.
All costs and responsibilities of removal shall be borne by the winner bidder within the time prescribed by the auctioneer.
The winning bidder hereby indemnifies the auctioneer and the vendor against any and all damages arising from the dismantling and removal of any lots.
Any lots not removed within the prescribed time shall be deemed as abandoned. The auctioneer shall have the right to resell or dispose of such items in whatever manner he sees fit without notice to the purchaser.
If for any reason, Galaxy Auctions Canada is unable to deliver any or all of an awarded lot or title thereof, the sole liability of Galaxy Auctions Canada shall be the refund of any monies paid on the lot.
It is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder to pay for their items within the prescribed time.
Galaxy Auctions Canada is not responsible for shipping carrier's lost or damaged items.
Shipping is calculated and included in the initial invoice sent immediately after the auction closes. Credit cards on file will be charged within 24 hours (next day) after the auction closes, unless alternative payment is confirmed prior by email.
