James Bonner - a University of Montana graduate, was County Engineer for Missoula County, chief engineer of the Montana Railroad commission, served as a captain of engineers in the first Great War, as well as running his own engineering firm in Missoula, practicing in; surveying, mapping, drafting, and blue prints. The map shows fantastic detail of Missoula Counties landmarks, plots, rivers, and railways, so much so it was likely displayed in Missoula County Courthouse, and is marked "State of Montana - County of Missoula - This map is hereby approved as the official map of Missoula County Montana", and is followed by the signatures of Missoula County commissioners. Additionally, the map depicts the Missoula County Courthouse on the left hand side. The map is in good condition, the piece is dry mounted to the backing, and cannot be seperated and re-mounted. The frame the piece is mounted in measures 65 1/2" wide x 40 1/4" tall.
