Playing his 6-string guitar, this remarkable turn-of-century folk-art marionette stands 24” tall with 11 strings helping him strum and sing using his articulated arms and legs. He sports a cowboy hat with hat band, cotton shirt, red bandana, sheepskin chaps, boots and wooden guitar. Fabricated from carved wood, leather, metal, paper maché. Includes plexiglass case with bale of hay CONDITION REPORT: in 2004, Marionette was professionally conserved by Irena Calinescue who holds an M A and Certificate of Advanced Study in Art Conservation. Ms Calinescu has both lectured and written papers on techniques of conversation and done work for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, UCLA Fowler Museum of Cultural History, J Paul Getty Museum Antiquities Convervation Dept, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art
