18th to 19th century mideastern dagger, showing carved ivory grip including pommel in form of goat’s head. The dagger measures 9-7/8” , the blade 6-1/8” with a saw back at the top, some engraving and silver inlayaround the bolster and ricasso area. The blade shows a light watered or Damascus pattern. The grip shows some cracks and normal aging just yellowing. The velveteen over wood scabbard is missing its tip andshows age but is at least fair to good. Not a modern tourist piece. We would identify it as a sleeve dagger, probably originating from an Iran eastward, approx. 1750-1850. Est: $500 - $1,000
