18AL-62 COLT 1ST MDL #1426Early Colt First Model Dragoon percussion revolver, .44 caliber, 7.5” barrel, brass straps, “Colt’s Patent/U.S.” stamped on left side of frame, plum brown patina to metal surfaces, wood grips with no visibleinspector cartouches, S/N 1420 on frame, barrel assembly, trigger guard (small numbers with 1420 split as “14” & “20” on either side of the forward trigger guard screw), backstrap and cylinder; #39 on rammer, #420on wedge and on cylinder arbor; majority of original cylinder scene remaining with “Model USMR” and “Colt’s Patent” mostly visible; in overall good to very good condition with fair to good bore, crisp action, goodmarkings and overall good grips with some scattered old mars and wear from carry and storage. This revolver is discussed and pictured in The Rampant Colt Magazine, Spring, 1994 issue on page 7 and wasoriginally in the famous Frank Singer collection.
