For your consideration is this original, first edition copy of "The Life of Kit Carson: Hunter, Trapper, Guide, Indian Agent, and Colonel U.S.A." by Edward S. Ellis, published by Grosset & Dunlap publishers and copyrighted by The American News Company in 1889. Christopher Carson (1809 – 1868), or as he was commonly called, Kit Carson, was more than a hunter, trapper, guide, Indian agent, and Colonel in the United States Army. He possessed those mental and moral qualities which would have made him prominent in whatever pursuit or profession he engaged. Carson became a frontier legend in his own lifetime via biographies and news articles. Exaggerated versions of his exploits were the subject of dime novels. Kit Carson left home in Missouri at age 16 to become an American frontiersman, mountain man, and trapper in the West. The condition of this book is very good, with very slight foxing to the edges of pages. The measurements of this book are 5.25"W x 7.5"L x 1.25"D
