Featured in this lot is this rare 1st edition of, "Boots and Saddles" by Elizabeth B. Custer, published and copy-righted in 1885 by Harper & Brothers. The book is a wonderful narrative of the life of General Custer on the plains in the mid to late 1800's. The book was written as a dedication to her husband, General George Armstrong Custer, and chronicles their life together until his untimely death at the hands of the Native Americans in the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. The books front cover and spine feature embossed images and gold gilt lettering. The condition of the book is good with wear to the front cover, spine and edges of the book consistent with its vintage age. The interior pages are in good condition with no signs of tears or foxing. The book measures 7 1/2" L x 5 1/4" W x 1 1/8" D.
