1876 special-order deluxe rifle .40-60 caliber, 28” octagon barrel, button mag, 3X checkered pistol-grip stock, set trigger, rifle butt, serial #54206. The rifle remains in very good plus to near fine original condition showing 75-85% strong original blue on the barrel, some lightening at the edges, some minor scratches and normal aging and a couple areas of pinprick pitting and erosion just starting that are very small. The frame shows 60-80% case hardening, with light rainbow colors, showing over the entire surface of the frame and some areas of vivid colors where protected, particularly on the bottom of the frame and tang. The hammer and lever show 30-50% darkening with case hardening still very visible, the stocks are very good plus with 60-70% varnish, a flaming burl wood grain of exceptional quality, just a few minor marks, small losses, slight normal aging. The buttplate shows considerable case hardening, drifting tot grey, with some beginning pitting and erosion. The loading gate shows 60-70% thinning blue, the dust cover shows 70-80% thinning original blue, the bolt shows considerable blue. The action is good, the bore is good to very good. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
