1873 Winchester .44-40 caliber lever-action rifle. 24” round barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, relic frontier-used used condition showing thick hide-wrapped barrel, forend removed, great old sheet brass wrist repair with large tacked decoration on all sides. The right side shows a circle, the left side a cross. The shape of the buttplate and butt are trimmed with large tacks. These tacks have not been out of the gun in years and are worn down into it and show the proper patina and aging and weathering to the stock. The metal surfaces are heavily rusted and pitted, particularly to the frame, the barrel a bit better. The extractor is missing, the magazine is bent, the action is working, the bore is rough. The dust cover is present and pitted to match. The serial number is not visible due to the brass repair, but this is a 3rd model 73, probably 1880’s to 90’s manufacture. The decoration may well have been done by a trapper or Indian on the frontier but it is genuine to the 19th century and the brass shows a great aging. Est: $1,500 - $3,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
