1860 Iron Frame Henry rifle, serial number 101. The Iron frame shows the rear sight dove tail plugged with some cleaning and browning applied long ago but not unsightly and a well done restoration. The frame and butt plate show somelight cleaning with minor pitting. There has been a plug placed in the rear sight dovetail and a frontier era buckhorn inleted in the frame near the back edge which was added during the period of use. The barrel address is light but legible. The action works well and the stock is good plus with minor normal aging and small imperfections. The stock and butt plate match. Recorded in “The Henry Rifle Book” by Les Quick as “One of approximately 50 known specimens of which only 270 wereestimated to have been produced”. With a large research portfolio included.
