1860 Henry rifle, .44 cal. rimfire, showing sling swivels, early groove for sight in frame, rounded butt plate, in good to very good condition, serial #2674. This rifle is in range identified with the 66th IllinoisInfantry between #2639 and #2688, which are 66th Regiment documented. The barrel shows strong traces of original blue within a browning finish, some good blue showing in the groove of the barrel and where protected. Scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, none of which is major. The barrel shows a crisp address with sharp edges. There is an oversized handmade buckhorn rear sight in the sight dovetail ofthe barrel, and a silver blade inlaid into front sight position to match this rear sight. Also, there is a dovetail 1/2" back from the sight which was neatly filled with a blank long ago during the period of use.The frame and butt plate show an even patina, good sharp edges with tight fit to the side plates, a couple of minor nicks and mars. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
