1858 Remington New Model Percussion revolver, cal. .44, Serial #71540. The pistol is in overall very good condition with a 8” octagon barrel. The pistol retains 40-50% of its blued finish and is “NJ” marked on the frame. The bore is good, action crisp and markings legible. The smooth wood grips are in overall good condition showing mars and compressions consistent with field use. A respectable looking 1858 Remington. Included, a notarized letter from Mary Elizabeth Taylor dated July 29, 2008 indicating family lineage to her great grandfather who was mustered into Co. K of the Rhode Island 9th Vol. Infantry on May 26, 1862 and mustered out on Sept. 2, 1862. (Antique). Est.: $800-$1,600.
