1850’s style U.S. Officers sword with Clauberg blade and fancy mounts; scabbard period script inscribed “Presented to Capt. Thomas Kendall by Members of Co. B 21st N.J. Vol., July 1, 1863”. The sword is in goodoriginal condition showing some light polishing and cleaning; the body of the scabbard shows considerable original brown finish; grip is very good; blade shows most etching and a gray patina; carried and usedbut cared for; a nice Civil War inscription; blade is 32” and sword is 38-1/2” overall. From an old collection in Auburn, CA in the heart of the Gold Country. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
