Featured in this lot we have a framed J.T. Bowen lithograph of a Pawnee Native American Chief originating from 1841. The piece depicts a Pawnee Native American Chief in a leather and fur shirt or robe with a large medallion necklace and red dyed hair. The bottom of the lithograph is marked "Pes-Ke-Le-Cha-Co. A Pawnee Chief. Published by J.T. Bowen, Philad. Drawn, Printed, and Colored at T.J. Bowen's Lithographic Establishment, No 94 Walnut St. - Entered According to act of Congress in the year 1841 by T.J. Bowen, in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Penn." across the bottom. The piece is set into a custom black and gilt gold frame. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear across the frame. The frame measures 16 1/2" wide by 19 1/2" tall with the litho measuring 10 1/4" wide by 13" tall.
