16th Queen's Lancers Officer's Lance Cap and Tunic

Full dress 16th Queens Lancers captains tunic and lance cap. The lance cap has a skull and peak composed of black patent leather. There is gold lace around the waist and lower edge of the skull. The peak has gold bullion sewn in three bands. The mortar board top is black melton cloth with ridged sides. There is a gold bullion plume boss with a "VR" cypher supporting a black feather plume without a ring. Gold bullion cord crosses the top and descends the angled corners. The gilt rayed plate has 11 battle honors. Two lion's head ear bosses suspend a gilt velvet backed chin chain. The front peak is lined in green skived leather. There is a natural leather sweat band with a red silk liner. The tunic is red with a blue facing. Buttons have the Queen's queen over "QL/16" except for the two last buttons on the back, cuff buttons and buttons on the shoulder boards which have a King's crown. The shoulder boards have captain rank insignia. The tunic has 16th Lancer lapel insignia as well as a gold and red striped belt. Comes with a saber belt and a gold bullion cap line.

Condition: The lance cap is very good with the gold bullion and lace having darkened with age and some missing stitching, crazed leather and some insect tracking on the melton cloth. The Waterloo battle honor is partially missing and the liner has detached from the cap. The chin chain has some bent links. The tunic is very good with a worn lining and some mild wear to the exterior.
