Winchester model 1892 lever-action rifle, .44-40 caliber, 24” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, in very good original condition. Serial #4454811. The rifle shows 75-85% original blue on barrel and magazinetube evenly drifting and toning with some lightening at the edges and just beginning erosion and pinprick pitting. The barrel address and caliber markings are good, edges and metal are generally very good. The frameshows 10-20% blue within a patina. The hammer and lever show generous traces of case hardening. The buttplate has drifted to a silvery grey. The stocks are good with some dings and mars to the buttstock, some smalllosses, and there is the addition of a sling swivel inlet into the rear area of the butt right in front of toe.
