Unusual mid-17th to early 18th century continental eprouvette, probably Germanic, brass body, horn grips, secured by two brass rivets. Steel tension spring and wheel mounted on side of brass body. Measures6-1/4” overall. Some pitting and erosion to the steel, brass shows a deep patina, grips show some even wear. The styling of the grips is almost identical to Trouss’.
