This is an original first printing first edition of To Have And Have Not by Ernest Hemingway. The book is published and printed by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1937 and shows the "A" under the copyright information denoting that it is a true First Edition (also shows the Scribner's Seal). This is an exceptionally rare original book showing collector quality. The piece does not have the paper dust cover (comes with a clear dust cover). The book does not appear to have been written in and shows an overall well preserved good condition with slight signs of use indicative of age. The book hard cover shows a gilt gold Ernest Hemingway signature title with the green and gilt gold binding marks for title and publisher. This work was the basis for the classic Howard Hawks' film, scripted by William Faulkner and Jules Furthman, and starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall in her debut. These books have an excellent value with many being listed for sale over $5,000. Book measures 8.25"x5.75" and 1.25" thick. 262 marked pages.
