This lot contains a set of three Sioux Native American Indian Beaded tobacco pouches. The first bag is associated with the Santee Sioux and shows a floral motif, containing chalk white, semi-transparent navy blue, blood red, and corn yellow trade seed beads. The two smaller pouches originate from the Lakota Sioux and both show geometric pattern, one of them also shows off short-cut tanned hide fringe. The pouch with the fringe boasts sky blue, chalk white, rich black, and Hudson Bay red white heart trade seed beads, with red ocher dye finishing on the back. The last pouch has no hanging string, but shows a simple geometric pattern, with robin egg blue, and crimson red trade seed beads. All of these pouches originate from around the late 19th century, and show good condition. The largest bag measures 5" x 4 1/2".
