Interesting German SA dagger with sheath in overall fair to good condition showing scattered pitting on the blade and on the sheath; also wear to the wood grip; blade is marked at hilt “Hammesfahr CIE., Solingen”with a swimmer in between the wording; one side of the sheath’s throat is inscribed “Fur unscer brannen Hampten 9-3-36”. If we had to guess, this dagger may have hung in a pool area for some time (maybe as a displaymemento) given the type of old pitting/erosion patterns but only our opinion; the name and date should be researched further as this may have been an award for a soldier/swimmer at the 11thOlympiad in 1936. Est.: $400-$800.
