American percussion single shot pistol, circa approx. 1850’s to 60’s, lock marked Warren Albany, with original metal shoulder stock. The pistol measures 13-1/4” overall with 7-3/4” heavy octagon barrel of approx. .44caliber six-groove rifling. The pistol is stocked in flame and birdseye maple with a dark stain and shows a reinforced backstrap with two drill holes for wire type shoulder stock. There is a small German silver inlayin the butt in floral style, the triggerguard is iron, the lock escutcheon is brass. There is a brass firing plate at the top edge of the stock and bottom of lock. The metal surfaces show a brown patina finish with some scattered erosion, normal aging. Edges are sharp, markings good. Stock is very good with 60% varnish, wear at the edges, normal aging.
