'Second Model 4th Type' Antique single action percussion revolver produced during the 1850's-1860's. The Second Model was popular in the Civil War with half of the production purchased by various states for the Army & Navy. Nickel plated refinish, 7 11/16" octagon barrel with no visible address, no front sight, brass trigger guard and smooth two-piece walnut grips. Serial numbers match on the loading lever, cylinder pin, barrel(partial), cylinder, both grip panels and on the frame(partial under the grip). The inspector mark "A" is found on the barrel, loading lever and cylinder, "0" is found in the cylinder pin lock & frame and the right grip panel has "H Q" stamped into it. Revolver exhibits nearly all of it's nickel plated finish showing scattered handling marks, few minor imperfections under the finish, drag marks on the cylinder and two notches in the butt. Action performs well, the bore is good with some pitting, markings are poor and the matching wood grips are very good. Condition is NRA Good. ***Antique Firearms***
