Rifle. Single-shot, Flintlock. Full stock Pennsylvania/Kentucky style muzzleloading Long Rifle. 41 3/4" rifled barrel. Iron open sights. Brass furniture, including patch box on the right side of the stock. (push button release is functional) Front sight blade is also brass. W. Ketland & Co. marked lock. William Ketland, was the son of Thomas Ketland, a very successful Birmingham gun maker. (1760-1816). American gun makers used his locks. Two-cock lock is complete, and functions properly. Barrel, and lock are in excellent shape, with a dull gray patina. Same for the brass furniture. Beautiful stripped stock is excellent, with some minor scratches/dings. Brass tipped ramrod is present. Bore appears very good, but dusty. A very nice conditioned early fowler, with a well known gun maker lock. NRA Condition-Excellent Antique Firearm.
