Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor cut down percussion rifle, .45 caliber, Serial #510626. The rifle is in fair to good condition with a cut down barrel 21” in length with the front sight removed and atangent style rear. The barrel has gone to brown patina with light to moderate surface rust and “195” stamped in front of the breech. The receiver has a legible U.S. and eagle on the side plate which is dark patina. The breech block is silvered toned case. The smooth wood stock has been cut and is in good condition with a smooth steel butt marked, U.S. at the top and sharp cartouches of “SWP” dated 1890 and a Circle P behind the trigger guard. The bore is dark and the action functions. Est.: $250-$500. (Antique).
