Sharps 1874 20 Ga SN: C7695
Repaired antique single-shot falling block rifle converted to fire 20 gauge shells, manufactured circa 1870's. Features a 22" round barrel, German silver blade front sight, flip-up ladder rear sight graduated to 800 yards, rounded trigger, serrated hammer spur, sling bar, 'j' shaped finger lever, single barrel band, smooth walnut forend and straight grip shoulder stock with smooth metal buttplate. The lock plate is marked "C.SHARPS' PAT./OCT.5TH 1852." The barrel retains approximately 50% of it's blued finish with the balance comprised of brown patina and scattered rust. The receiver exhibits the majority of it's blued finish showing a bright ground spot on the right side and major repair between the main body & upper tang. The lower tang, trigger, finger lever, lever pin and sling bar bear an aged brown patina. The hammer is incorrect and does not engage with the firing pin. Action is otherwise in working order, the bore is fair and the refinished wood stocks are fair with cracks, blemishes & moderate loss. Condition is near NRA Good ***Antique Firearm***
