(Disney, 1967) An amazing Studio set of (3) public presentation boards. The work was created by the Walt Disney Studios to showcase how their animated films were made, and was likely used at a theatre premiere or at Disneyland. Each panel is created from large 32"x40" crescent board. The boards use King Louie to showcase how the animation process begins and ends. Board one features a hand-painted "Steps in Making of a Walt Disney Production Animated Feature." The first board also has vintage images of Milt Kahl animating and Woolie Reitherman in a meeting with Ollie Johnston, Milt Kahl, and Frank Thomas. A print of actual animation drawings of King Louie are shown with two unpainted cels of King Louie. The second board is about story development and shows a picture of Ken Anderson, with prints of original storyboards, model sheets, and two hand-painted story pieces in the setup. The third board has photos of the famous multiplane camera, and a woman from Ink and Paint working on a cel. Two actual King Louie hand-painted cels are in this setup. One is reversed to show the paint on the back of the cel, the other shows what the finished product looks like. Each cel image is about 7" tall. A Jungle Book lobby card of King Louie is also in the setup. This is a very unique Studio display piece that presents in very good condition with minor handling and edge wear from use.
