by noted Hungarian artist Stephan Juharos "Payday" depicting a saloon scene of gamblers and dancers. Image size 36"x40". In beautiful gold frame. Stephan Juharos a native of Budapest and Hungary received a master of arts diploma at the Royal Hungarian State University for fine and industrial arts he also won a one year scholarship. In the 1940s he served in the military and moved to NW Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1949 and continued to receive portrait commissions including Dwight D Eisenhower which is displayed in the "hall of Presidents" museum. In the 1960s he moved to Sedona, AZ where he completed large murals for churches, libraries and universities. Includes an appraisal from the S.R. Brennen Gallery for retail value of $10,000. A native of Budapest, Hungary, he began painting at the age of seven, following in the footsteps of his father, an architect who painted in his free time. Juharos received a Master of Arts diploma at the Royal Hungarian State University for Fine and Industrial Art. He was also awarded the Gold Medal and a one-year scholarship. At his first solo show in Budapest, the City of Budapest purchased one of his watercolors for the City Art Museum. The National Museum of Fine Art also purchased another of his watercolors. In 1941, he entered military service, fighting to regain territories that had belonged to Hungary for over 1,000 years.
