Information on Duck Stamp entry printed by artist on the back. William Moore was born in Glendale, CA. his early interests were drawing, prehistory and restoring automobiles. Bill's early career was focused on becoming a paleontologist. In 1956 he won the General Motors Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild contest which started his career in commercial art. Bill was awarded a scholarship to the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design where he studied for two years. After this he was involved in aerospace design as well as commercial and technical illustrations. Bill eventually left the commercial art world to pursue his true passion, painting Western themed landscapes and wildlife. He generated a large body of work that is in collections worldwide and in several national museums. Bill has been in the Southwest Art Magazine, Nevada Magazine and has been honored with the Nevada Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year in 1989 and was chosen for Idaho's 1999 Game Stamp and 1994-95 Duck Stamp.
